We built a bridge - Family Service

Services

This past Sunday was the fifth Sunday Family service, taken by the Youth Group.

It was a great service with a simple, interactive message. We encounter many walls in our lives, some good, some bad.

Most walls between people are made through ignorance, insecurity doubt and fear.

The verse for the service was Galatians 3:28

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

There was a multi-word human mix-up puzzle we group solved to start with.

We built a literal wall down the middle of the church made up of large cardboard boxes. We then placed post-it's on the wall, listing what we felt made up figurative walls between people.

We then reflected on what contributed to breaking down walls between people, like peace, understanding, love and listening.

We replaced the negative post-its with the wall-busting ones, broke down the boxes so they were flat, and payed them on top of each other, spanning the width of the front of the church.

We proceeded to proceed across this newly form 'bridge'.

We built a bridge and got over it :)

This was followed by communion delivered by the youth group , and the service finished with a song, cups of tea and catching up.

Great work Youth Group!
