Fitness at St. D's

Fitness, health and wellbeing together

Community fitness, health and wellbeing is a key driver to social cohesion here at Saint David's Naenae.

For example, the Pilates for Everyone classes started out of the Fruit and Vegetable Co-op, as an opportunity to offer communal exercise along side affordable healthy food decisions.

There's a number of things going on at St. David's you can get involved in:

Pilates for Everyone

9 - 10 AM, Fridays (during school term time).

St Davids main building.

$2 unwaged household, $5 waged household

Become stronger, fitter and healthier. Learn to celebrate your body now, and on the way to what it can be.

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture, and enhance mental awareness.

The classes are structured to slowly warm up your core, moving into exercises that stretch and strengthen muscles. Focussing on specific muscle groups at a time helps ground practitioners in their own body.

Pilates for Everyone caters for all abilities, providing mainly beginner and intermediate exercise alternatives. Work out to your own limits, push yourself, or ease into whatever level of intensity suits you.

Crow Barre

7:30 - 8:15 PM, Wednesdays (during school term time).

St Davids main building.

Free

Push your exercise to the next level with great beats, heaps of laughter, and sweat!

Barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music.

In each energising and targeted workout, you'll  mainly use your own bodyweight to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body.
